In your days of majesty, ¹  was not Sodom your sister a byword in your mouth,

The Lord confirms this oath ¹  by the arrogance of Jacob: ²  “I swear ³  I will never forget all you have done! ⁴ 

A good tree is not able to bear bad fruit, nor a bad tree to bear good fruit.

But if I do what I don’t want, I agree that the law is good. ¹ 

There are probably many kinds of languages in the world, and none is without meaning.

For if there was glory in the ministry that produced condemnation, ¹  how much more does the ministry that produces righteousness ²  excel ³  in glory!

This saying ¹  is trustworthy: “If someone aspires to the office of overseer, ²  he desires a good work.”

Protect that good thing ¹  entrusted to you, through the Holy Spirit who lives within us.

accordingly Jesus has become the guarantee ¹  of a better covenant.

Do they not blaspheme the good name of the one you belong to? ¹ 

May the godly strike me in love and correct me! May my head not refuse ¹  choice oil! ²  Indeed, my prayer is a witness against their evil deeds. ³ 

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may proclaim the virtues ¹  of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
