he gives ¹  rain on the earth, ²  and sends ³  water on the fields; ⁴ 

His lightning bolts light up the world; the earth sees and trembles.

I can clothe the sky in darkness; I can cover it with sackcloth.”

You furiously stomp on the earth, you angrily trample down the nations.

As he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. ¹ 

After they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret ¹  and anchored there.

First the gospel must be preached to all nations.

It was winter, ¹  and Jesus was walking in the temple area ²  in Solomon’s Portico. ³ 

That is why its name was called ¹  Babel ²  – because there the Lord confused the language of the entire world, and from there the Lord scattered them across the face of the entire earth.

He left ¹  with all he owned. He quickly crossed ²  the Euphrates River ³  and headed for ⁴  the hill country of Gilead.

“If you encounter ¹  your enemy’s ox or donkey wandering off, you must by all means return ²  it to him.

You are to put the table outside the curtain and the lampstand on the south side of the tabernacle, opposite the table, and you are to place the table on the north side.

and if all your armed men cross the Jordan before the Lord until he drives out his enemies from his presence

There is no one like God, O Jeshurun, ¹  who rides through the sky ²  to help you, on the clouds in majesty.

O Lord, when you departed ¹  from Seir, when you marched from Edom’s plains, the earth shook, the heavens poured down, the clouds poured down rain. ² 

Gilead stayed put ¹  beyond the Jordan River. As for Dan – why did he seek temporary employment in the shipyards? ²  Asher remained ³  on the seacoast, he stayed ⁴  by his harbors. ⁵ 

So David and all the people who were with him got up and crossed the Jordan River. ¹  By dawn there was not one person left who had not crossed the Jordan.
