Say, ‘Mountains of Israel, ¹  Hear the word of the sovereign Lord! ²  This is what the sovereign Lord says to the mountains and the hills, to the ravines and the valleys: I am bringing ³  a sword against you, and I will destroy your high places. ⁴ 

You must set boundaries ¹  for the people all around, saying, ‘Take heed ²  to yourselves not to go up on the mountain nor touch its edge. Whoever touches the mountain will surely be put to death!

Written by the Korahites; a psalm, a song. The Lord’s city is in the holy hills. ² 

Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they took their place at the foot of the mountain.

So Moses set out ¹  with ²  Joshua his attendant, and Moses went up the mountain of God.

Now the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in plain view ¹  of the people.

Now be sure to make ¹  them according to the pattern you were shown ²  on the mountain. ³ 

You are to set up the tabernacle according to the plan ¹  that you were shown on the mountain.

Be prepared ¹  in the morning, and go up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and station yourself ²  for me there on the top of the mountain.

The Lord our God spoke to us at Horeb and said, “You have stayed ¹  in the area of this mountain long enough.

For this reason we do not fear ¹  when the earth shakes, ²  and the mountains tumble into the depths of the sea, ³ 

Until the dawn arrives ¹  and the shadows flee, I will go up to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense.

Their slain will be left unburied, ¹  their corpses will stink; ²  the hills will soak up their blood. ³ 

I will drench the land with the flow of your blood up to the mountains, and the ravines will be full of your blood. ¹ 

Now on ¹  the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a large crowd met him.

(the world was not worthy of them); they wandered in deserts and mountains and caves and openings in the earth.

When this voice was conveyed from heaven, we ourselves ¹  heard it, for we were with him on the holy mountain. ² 

“My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds ¹  have allow them to go astray. They have wandered around in the mountains. They have roamed from one mountain and hill to another. ²  They have forgotten their resting place.

Then Moses went down from the mountain to the people and sanctified the people, and they washed their clothes.

You are to make the altar hollow, out of boards. Just as it was shown you ¹  on the mountain, so they must make it. ²
