God heard and was angry; he completely rejected Israel.

So they proclaim that the Lord, my protector, is just and never unfair. ¹ 

Let the sky rejoice, and the earth be happy! Let the sea and everything in it shout!

The one who lacks wisdom ¹  strikes hands in pledge, ²  and puts up financial security ³  for his neighbor. ⁴ 

for all the cedars of Lebanon, that are so high and mighty, for all the oaks of Bashan; ¹ 

The tree grew large and strong. Its top reached far into the sky; it could be seen ¹  from the borders of all the land. ² 

Then a powerful king ¹  will arise, exercising great authority and doing as he pleases.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.

When ¹  they came to the crowd, a man came to him, knelt before him,

Now ¹  a great windstorm ²  developed and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was nearly swamped.

When they came to the disciples, they saw a large crowd around them and experts in the law ¹  arguing with them.

But ¹  when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled back.

Suddenly ¹  a vast, heavenly army ²  appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

When ¹  they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets started to tear. ² 

Now on ¹  the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a large crowd met him.

Now large crowds ¹  were accompanying Jesus, ²  and turning to them he said,

There will be great earthquakes, and famines ¹  and plagues in various places, and there will be terrifying sights ²  and great signs ³  from heaven.

A great number of the people followed him, among them women ¹  who were mourning ²  and wailing for him.

for before the law was given, ¹  sin was in the world, but there is no accounting for sin ²  when there is no law.

Or who has first given to God, ¹  that God ²  needs to repay him? ³
