So he brought him to his house and fed the donkeys. They washed their feet and had a meal. ¹ 

Samuel said to the cook, “Give me the portion of meat that I gave to you – the one I asked you to keep with you.”

Princesses ¹  are among your honored guests, ²  your bride ³  stands at your right hand, wearing jewelry made with gold from Ophir. ⁴ 

Rich people from Tyre ¹  will seek your favor by bringing a gift. ² 

My own brothers treat me like a stranger; they act as if I were a foreigner. ¹ 

But on Herod’s birthday, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod,

But they were indifferent and went away, one to his farm, another to his business.

He said to them, “Wherever you enter a house, stay there ¹  until you leave the area.

But some who were present indignantly said to one another, “Why this waste of expensive ¹  ointment?

Whatever ¹  house you enter, stay there ²  until you leave the area. ³ 

This man is staying as a guest with a man named Simon, a tanner, ¹  whose house is by the sea.”

Therefore we ¹  ought to support such people, so that we become coworkers in cooperation with the truth. ² 

Every ¹  woman will ask her neighbor and the one who happens to be staying ²  in her house for items of silver and gold ³  and for clothing. You will put these articles on your sons and daughters – thus you will plunder Egypt!” ⁴ 

Here are my virgin daughter and my guest’s ¹  concubine. I will send them out and you can abuse them and do to them whatever you like. ²  But don’t do such a disgraceful thing to this man!”

As Jesus ¹  was having a meal ²  in Levi’s ³  home, many tax collectors ⁴  and sinners were eating with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many who followed him.

Now ¹  while Jesus ²  was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, reclining at the table, ³  a woman came with an alabaster jar ⁴  of costly aromatic oil ⁵  from pure nard. After breaking open the jar, she poured it on his head.

When you enter the town, you can find him before he goes up to the high place to eat. The people won’t eat until he arrives, for he must bless the sacrifice. Once that happens, those who have been invited will eat. Now go on up, for ¹  this is the time when you can find him!”

Again he sent other slaves, saying, ‘Tell those who have been invited, “Look! The feast I have prepared for you is ready. ¹  My oxen and fattened cattle have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.”’

Be careful ¹  not to make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, for when ²  they prostitute themselves ³  to their gods and sacrifice to their gods, and someone invites you, ⁴  you will eat from his sacrifice;

The land must not be sold without reclaim ¹  because the land belongs to me, for you are foreigners and residents with me. ²
