One who acts wickedly ¹  pays attention to evil counsel; ²  a liar listens ³  to a malicious tongue. ⁴ 

A faithful person ¹  will have an abundance of blessings, but the one who hastens ²  to gain riches will not go unpunished.

The stingy person ¹  hastens after riches and does not know that poverty will overtake him. ² 

I considered all the living who walk on earth, ¹  as well as the successor ²  who would arise ³  in his place.

Do not let yourself be quickly provoked, ¹  for anger resides in the lap ²  of fools.

I will wait patiently for the Lord, who has rejected the family of Jacob; ¹  I will wait for him.

Immediately the father of the boy cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”

For all the nations of the world pursue ¹  these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

A dispute also started ¹  among them over which of them was to be regarded as the greatest. ² 

Then they wanted to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat came to the land where they had been heading.

So the lame man ¹  paid attention to them, expecting to receive something from them.

And they paid close attention to him because he had amazed them for a long time with his magic.

Meanwhile Saul, still breathing out threats ¹  to murder ²  the Lord’s disciples, went to the high priest

Be devoted to one another with mutual love, showing eagerness in honoring one another.

So then, let us pursue what makes for peace and for building up one another.

For Macedonia and Achaia are pleased to make some contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.

so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.

But thanks be to God who put in the heart of Titus the same devotion ¹  I have for you,

Now the works of the flesh ¹  are obvious: ²  sexual immorality, impurity, depravity,

¹ who though he existed in the form of God ²  did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped,
