Our Lord is great and has awesome power; ¹  there is no limit to his wisdom. ² 

I have examined all this by wisdom; I said, “I am determined ¹  to comprehend this” ²  – but it was beyond my grasp. ³ 

Then I said, ¹  “There is no cure ²  for my grief! I am sick at heart!

unless ¹  you have utterly rejected us ²  and are angry with us beyond measure. ³ 

Then he went up with them into the boat, and the wind ceased. They were completely astonished,

When the Canaanites who lived in the land saw them mourning at the threshing floor of Atad, they said, “This is a very sad occasion ¹  for the Egyptians.” That is why its name was called ²  Abel Mizraim, ³  which is beyond the Jordan.

I said to the king, “If the king is so inclined, let him give me letters for the governors of Trans-Euphrates ¹  that will enable me to travel safely until I reach Judah,

Then Moses selected three cities in the Transjordan, toward the east.

So at that time we took the land of the two Amorite kings in the Transjordan from Wadi Arnon to Mount Hermon ¹ 

Now Moses had assigned land ¹  to the two-and-a-half tribes east of the Jordan, but he assigned no land ²  to the Levites. ³ 

They ruthlessly oppressed ¹  the Israelites that eighteenth year ²  – that is, all the Israelites living east of the Jordan in Amorite country in Gilead.

The bronze of the items that King Solomon made for the Lord’s temple – including the two pillars, the big bronze basin called “The Sea,” the twelve bronze bulls under “The Sea,” ¹  and the movable stands – was too heavy to be weighed.

Then Tattenai governor of Trans-Euphrates, Shethar-Bozenai, and their colleagues acted accordingly – with precision, just as Darius the king had given instructions. ¹ 

Adjacent to them worked Melatiah the Gibeonite and Jadon the Meronothite, who were men of Gibeon and Mizpah. These towns were under the jurisdiction ¹  of the governor of Trans-Euphrates.

The one who stiffens his neck ¹  after numerous rebukes ²  will suddenly be destroyed ³  without remedy. ⁴ 

Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. ¹  There is no end to the making ²  of many books, and much study is exhausting to the body. ³ 

People were completely astounded and said, “He has done everything well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”

Jesus ¹  went back across the Jordan River ²  again to the place where John ³  had been baptizing at an earlier time, ⁴  and he stayed there.
