Deliver me ¹  from the sword! Save ²  my life ³  from the claws ⁴  of the wild dogs!

A bribe works like ¹  a charm ²  for the one who offers it; ³  in whatever he does ⁴  he succeeds. ⁵ 

There is desirable treasure and olive oil ¹  in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish person ²  devours all he has. ³ 

Who can find ²  a wife ³  of noble character? ⁴  For her value ⁵  is far more than rubies.
