He called a child, had him stand among them,

They took the boy home alive and were greatly ¹  comforted.

Then Jonathan said, “My father has caused trouble for the land. See how my eyes gleamed ¹  when I tasted just a little of this honey.

The Beloved’s Brothers: We have a little sister, and as yet she has no breasts. What shall we do for our sister on the day when she is spoken for? ¹ 

When Jesus learned of this, ¹  he said, “You who have such little faith! ²  Why are you arguing ³  among yourselves about having no bread?

“See that you do not disdain one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. ¹ 

Going a little farther, he threw himself to the ground and prayed that if it were possible the hour would pass from him.

It would be better for him to have a millstone ¹  tied around his neck and be thrown into the sea ²  than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin. ³ 

(Stop drinking just water, but use a little wine for your digestion ¹  and your frequent illnesses.) ² 

So ¹  I took the little scroll from the angel’s hand and ate it, and it did taste ²  as sweet as honey in my mouth, but ³  when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter.

Our children, our wives, our flocks, and all our livestock will be there in the cities of Gilead,

The next morning Jonathan, along with a young servant, went out to the field to meet David.

How blessed will be the one who grabs your babies and smashes them on a rock! ¹ 

For very soon my fury ¹  will subside, and my anger will be directed toward their destruction.”

Look, this town ¹  over here is close enough to escape to, and it’s just a little one. ²  Let me go there. ³  It’s just a little place, isn’t it? ⁴  Then I’ll survive.” ⁵ 

Jesus could see ¹  that they wanted to ask him about these things, ²  so ³  he said to them, “Are you asking ⁴  each other about this – that I said, ‘In a little while you ⁵  will not see me; again after a little while, you ⁶  will see me’?

When they finished eating the grain they had brought from Egypt, their father said to them, “Return, buy us a little more food.”

You are also commanded to say, ¹  ‘Do this: Take for yourselves wagons from the land of Egypt for your little ones and for your wives. Bring your father and come.

Then Jacob started out ¹  from Beer Sheba, and the sons of Israel carried their father Jacob, their little children, and their wives in the wagons that Pharaoh had sent along to transport him.

“You will take much seed to the field but gather little harvest, because locusts will consume it.
