When the time comes for you to die, ¹  I will raise up your descendant, one of your own sons, to succeed you, ²  and I will establish his kingdom.

Your house and your kingdom will stand before me ¹  permanently; your dynasty ²  will be permanent.’”

After Rehoboam’s rule was established and solidified, he and all Israel rejected the law of the Lord.

You created the mountains by your power, ¹  and demonstrated your strength. ² 

Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns! The world is established, it cannot be moved. He judges the nations fairly.”

They are forever firm, and should be faithfully and properly carried out. ¹ 

The one who tells the truth ¹  will endure forever, but the one who lies ²  will last only for a moment. ³ 

then he says, “Here I am: I have come to do your will.” ¹  He does away with ²  the first to establish the second.

but I will confirm ¹  my covenant with you. You will enter ²  the ark – you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.

I will confirm ¹  my covenant as a perpetual ²  covenant between me and you. It will extend to your descendants after you throughout their generations. I will be your God and the God of your descendants after you. ³ 

The Lord will designate you as his holy people just as he promised you, if you keep his commandments ¹  and obey him. ² 

For as long as ¹  this son of Jesse is alive on the earth, you and your kingdom will not be established. Now, send some men ²  and bring him to me. For he is as good as dead!” ³ 

David realized that the Lord had established him as king over Israel and that he had elevated his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.

so you may gain lasting fame, ¹  as people say, ²  ‘The Lord of hosts is God over Israel!’ The dynasty ³  of your servant David will be established before you,

Then I will allow your dynasty to rule over Israel permanently, ¹  just as I promised your father David, ‘You will not fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’ ² 

He will build a temple to honor me; ¹  he will become my son, and I will become his father. I will grant to his dynasty permanent rule over Israel.’ ² 

I will establish his kingdom permanently, if he remains committed to obeying my commands and regulations, as you are doing this day.’ ¹ 

He established a rule ¹  in Jacob; he set up a law in Israel. He commanded our ancestors to make his deeds known to their descendants, ² 

For I say, “Loyal love is permanently established; ¹  in the skies you set up your faithfulness.” ² 

The Lord reigns! He is robed in majesty, the Lord is robed, he wears strength around his waist. ²  Indeed, the world is established, it cannot be moved.
