The arrogant dig pits to trap me, ¹  which violates your law. ² 

Remove perverse speech ¹  from your mouth; ²  keep devious talk far from your lips. ³ 

he plots evil with perverse thoughts ¹  in his heart, he spreads contention ²  at all times.

All the words of my mouth are righteous; ¹  there is nothing in them twisted ²  or crooked.

The lips of the righteous know ¹  what is pleasing, ²  but the speech ³  of the wicked is perverse.

The Lord abhors ¹  those who are perverse in heart, ²  but those who are blameless in their ways ³  are his delight. ⁴ 

The one who walks in his uprightness fears the Lord, ¹  but the one who is perverted in his ways ²  despises him.

Speech ¹  that heals ²  is like ³  a life-giving tree, ⁴  but a perverse tongue ⁵  breaks the spirit.

The one who has a perverse heart ¹  does not find good, ²  and the one who is deceitful in speech ³  falls into trouble.

so, to the contrary, I have planned in these days to do good to Jerusalem and Judah – do not fear!

But he replied, ¹  “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey ²  it!”

Jesus answered, “I am not possessed by a demon, ¹  but I honor my Father – and yet ²  you dishonor me.

But if I do what I don’t want, I agree that the law is good. ¹ 

But you yourselves wrong and cheat, and you do this to your brothers and sisters! ¹ 

for the weapons of our warfare are not human weapons, ¹  but are made powerful by God ²  for tearing down strongholds. ³  We tear down arguments ⁴ 

But you know it was because of a physical illness that I first proclaimed the gospel to you,

But when he arrived in Rome, ¹  he eagerly searched for me and found me.

But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves.

The angel of the Lord said to him, “Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? Look, I came out to oppose you because what you are doing ¹  is perverse before me. ² 

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me has not been in vain. In fact, I worked harder than all of them – yet not I, but the grace of God with me.
