The Philistines asked, ¹  “Who did this?” They were told, ²  “Samson, the Timnite’s son-in-law, because the Timnite ³  took Samson’s ⁴  bride and gave her to his best man.” So the Philistines went up and burned her and her father. ⁵ 

A person who has friends ¹  may be harmed by them, ²  but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Even now you say to me, ‘You are my father! ¹  You have been my faithful companion ever since I was young.

For ¹  Peter ²  and all who were with him were astonished ³  at the catch of fish that they had taken,

You yourselves know that these hands of mine ¹  provided for my needs and the needs of those who were with me.

Those who were with me saw the light, but did not understand ¹  the voice of the one who was speaking to me.

From ¹  Rehum the commander, Shimshai the scribe, and the rest of their colleagues – the judges, the rulers, the officials, the secretaries, the Erechites, the Babylonians, the people of Susa (that is, ²  the Elamites),

Then, as soon as the copy of the letter from King Artaxerxes was read in the presence of Rehum, Shimshai the scribe, and their colleagues, they proceeded promptly to the Jews in Jerusalem ¹  and stopped them with threat of armed force. ² 

Because of my condition, ¹  even my friends and acquaintances keep their distance; ²  my neighbors stand far away. ³ 

The man ¹  who loves wisdom brings joy to his father, ²  but whoever associates ³  with prostitutes wastes ⁴  his wealth. ⁵ 

For if they fall, one will help his companion up, but pity ¹  the person who falls down and has no one to help him up.

how he entered the house of God and they ate ¹  the sacred bread, ²  which was against the law ³  for him or his companions to eat, but only for the priests? ⁴ 

Now Peter and those with him were quite sleepy, ¹  but as they became fully awake, ²  they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.
