The exiles who were returning from the captivity offered burnt offerings to the God of Israel – twelve bulls for all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven male lambs, along with twelve male goats as a sin offering. All this was a burnt offering to the Lord.

And they began to beg ¹  him not to order ²  them to depart into the abyss. ³ 

He made the altar for the burnt offering of acacia wood seven feet six inches long and seven feet six inches wide – it was square – and its height was four feet six inches.

Ahithophel said to Absalom, “Let me pick out twelve thousand men. Then I will go and pursue David this very night.

On the second side ¹  there are to be ²  hangings twenty-two and a half feet long, with their three posts and their three bases.

They finished this temple on the third day of the month Adar, which is the sixth ¹  year of the reign of King Darius.

She considers ¹  a field and buys it; from her own income ²  she plants a vineyard.

He measured the width of the entrance of the gateway as 17½ feet, ¹  and the length of the gateway as 22¾ feet. ² 

From the front of the entrance gate to the porch of the inner gate was 87½ feet. ¹ 

Its length was 175 feet ¹  on the north side, ²  and its width 87½ feet. ³ 

“These are the exits of the city: On the north side, one and one-half miles ¹  by measure,

or “Who will descend into the abyss?” ¹  (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).

Then ¹  I saw an angel descending from heaven, holding ²  in his hand the key to the abyss and a huge chain.

“Take ¹  choice spices: ²  twelve and a half pounds ³  of free-flowing myrrh, ⁴  half that – about six and a quarter pounds – of sweet-smelling cinnamon, six and a quarter pounds of sweet-smelling cane,

The Lord will force you and your king ¹  whom you will appoint over you to go away to a people whom you and your ancestors have not known, and you will serve other gods of wood and stone there.
