King Joash of Israel sent this message back to King Amaziah of Judah, “A thorn bush in Lebanon sent this message to a cedar in Lebanon, ‘Give your daughter to my son as a wife.’ Then a wild animal of Lebanon came by and trampled down the thorn bush. ¹ 

for God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will open ¹  and you will be like divine beings who know ²  good and evil.” ³ 

This is the account ¹  of Noah’s sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons ²  were born ³  to them after the flood.

These are the families of the sons of Noah, according to their genealogies, by their nations, and from these the nations spread ¹  over the earth after the flood.

This is the account of Abraham’s son Ishmael, ¹  whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s servant, bore to Abraham.

These were the chiefs ¹  among the descendants ²  of Esau, the sons of Eliphaz, Esau’s firstborn: chief Teman, chief Omar, chief Zepho, chief Kenaz,

chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom, according to their settlements ¹  in the land they possessed. This was Esau, the father of the Edomites.

When the Lord ¹  saw that ²  he had turned aside to look, God called to him from within the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” ³  And Moses ⁴  said, “Here I am.”

Then in the fifth year you may eat its fruit to add its produce to your harvest. ¹  I am the Lord your God.

All the days of his separation he must not eat anything that is produced by the grapevine, from seed ¹  to skin. ² 

Instead, this is what you must do to them: You must tear down their altars, shatter their sacred pillars, ¹  cut down their sacred Asherah poles, ²  and burn up their idols.

All the land was weeping loudly ¹  as all these people were leaving. ²  As the king was crossing over the Kidron Valley, all the people were leaving ³  on the road that leads to the desert.

He made doors of olive wood at the entrance to the inner sanctuary; the pillar on each doorpost was five-sided. ¹ 

He also made ¹  two doors out of wood from evergreens; each door had two folding leaves. ² 

Altogether the genealogical records of the clans of Issachar listed 87,000 warriors. ¹ 

The sons of Ulam were warriors who were adept archers. ¹  They had many sons and grandsons, a total of 150. All these were the descendants of Benjamin.

Genealogical records were kept for all Israel; they are recorded in the Scroll of the Kings of Israel.The people of Judah ¹  were carried away to Babylon because of their unfaithfulness.

we will get all the timber you need from Lebanon ¹  and bring it ²  in raft-like bundles ³  by sea to Joppa. You can then haul it on up to Jerusalem.”

and to all the infants, wives, sons, and daughters of the entire assembly listed in the genealogical records, for they faithfully consecrated themselves.

This very day return to them their fields, their vineyards, their olive trees, and their houses, along with the interest ¹  that you are exacting from them on the money, the grain, the new wine, and the olive oil.”
