Hasn’t he treated us like foreigners? He not only sold us, but completely wasted ¹  the money paid for us! ² 

Jacob looked up ¹  and saw that Esau was coming ²  along with four hundred men. So he divided the children among Leah, Rachel, and the two female servants.

So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods that were in their possession ¹  and the rings that were in their ears. ²  Jacob buried them ³  under the oak ⁴  near Shechem

You may have the Sabbath produce ¹  of the land to eat – you, your male servant, your female servant, your hired worker, the resident foreigner who stays with you, ² 

“‘As for your male and female slaves ¹  who may belong to you – you may buy male and female slaves from the nations all around you. ²

And they stood before Moses and Eleazar the priest and the leaders of the whole assembly at the entrance to the tent of meeting and said,

Then they came very close to him and said, “We will build sheep folds here for our flocks and cities for our families, ¹ 

So build cities for your descendants and pens for your sheep, but do what you have said ¹  you would do.”

you shall take an awl and pierce a hole through his ear to the door. ¹  Then he will become your servant permanently (this applies to your female servant as well).

your infants, your wives, and the ¹  foreigners living in your encampment, those who chop wood and those who carry water –

He will take your male and female servants, as well as your best cattle and your donkeys, and assign them for his own use.
