But God ¹  drags off the mighty by his power; when God ²  rises up against him, he has no faith in his life. ³ 

I beat them ¹  to death; ²  they fall at my feet. ³ 

Rise up and help us! Rescue us ¹  because of your loyal love!

Who will rise up to defend me ¹  against the wicked? Who will stand up for me against the evildoers? ² 

O Lord, do I not hate those who hate you, and despise those who oppose you? ¹

Violent men perjure themselves, ¹  and falsely accuse me. ² 

Do not disregard ¹  what your enemies say, ²  or the unceasing shouts of those who defy you. ³

When the righteous rejoice, ¹  great is the glory, ²  but when the wicked rise to power, people are sought out. ³ 

Her children rise up ¹  and call her blessed, her husband ²  also praises her:

If a false ¹  witness testifies against another person and accuses him of a crime, ²

Grab your small shield and large shield, ¹  and rise up to help me!
