when he performed his awesome deeds ¹  in Egypt, and his acts of judgment ²  in the region of Zoan.

“As in the days when you departed from the land of Egypt, I will show you ¹  miraculous deeds.” ² 

because they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.

Because they had heard that Jesus ¹  had performed this miraculous sign, the crowd went out to meet him.

Now Stephen, full of grace and power, was performing great wonders and miraculous signs ¹  among the people.

“Men of Israel, ¹  listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man clearly attested to you by God with powerful deeds, ²  wonders, and miraculous signs ³  that God performed among you through him, just as you yourselves know –

saying, “What should we do with these men? For it is plain ¹  to all who live in Jerusalem that a notable miraculous sign ²  has come about through them, ³  and we cannot deny it.

He does ¹  great and unsearchable ²  things, marvelous things without ³  number; ⁴ 

amazing feats in the land of Ham, mighty ¹  acts by the Red Sea.

Then Jesus began to criticize openly the cities ¹  in which he had done many of his miracles, because they did not repent.

He was not able to do a miracle there, except to lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them.

Many ¹  came to him and began to say, “John ²  performed ³  no miraculous sign, but everything John said about this man ⁴  was true!”

Indeed, the signs of an apostle were performed among you with great perseverance ¹  by signs and wonders and powerful deeds. ² 

“Woe to you, Chorazin! ¹  Woe to you, Bethsaida! If ²  the miracles ³  done in you had been done in Tyre ⁴  and Sidon, ⁵  they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

“Woe to you, Chorazin! ¹  Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if ²  the miracles ³  done in you had been done in Tyre ⁴  and Sidon, ⁵  they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

Suppose a prophet or one who foretells by dreams ¹  should appear among you and show you a sign or wonder, ² 

Your eyes have seen the great judgments, ¹  those signs and mighty wonders.

“Pay attention to this, Job! Stand still and consider the wonders God works.

You are the God who does amazing things; you have revealed your strength among the nations.

Do you accomplish amazing things for the dead? Do the departed spirits ¹  rise up and give you thanks? (Selah)
