An officer who was the king’s right-hand man ¹  responded to the prophet, ²  “Look, even if the Lord made it rain by opening holes in the sky, could this happen so soon?” ³  Elisha ⁴  said, “Look, you will see it happen with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of the food!” ⁵ 

The seven lean, bad-looking cows that came up after them represent seven years, as do the seven empty heads of grain burned with the east wind. They represent ¹  seven years of famine.

and the slope of the valleys ¹  that extends to the dwelling of Ar, ²  and falls off at the border of Moab.”

Samson took hold of the two middle pillars that supported the temple ¹  and he leaned against them, with his right hand on one and his left hand on the other.

One of his disciples, the one Jesus loved, ¹  was at the table ²  to the right of Jesus in a place of honor. ³ 

Offer the prescribed sacrifices ¹  and trust in the Lord! ² 

They trust ¹  in their wealth and boast ²  in their great riches.

From the ends of the earth we ¹  hear songs – the Just One is majestic. ²  But I ³  say, “I’m wasting away! I’m wasting away! I’m doomed! Deceivers deceive, deceivers thoroughly deceive!” ⁴ 

and whether the land is rich or poor, and whether or not there are forests in it. And be brave, ¹  and bring back some of the fruit of the land.” Now it was the time of year ²  for the first ripe grapes. ³ 

For this reason ¹  the sovereign master, the Lord who commands armies, will make his healthy ones emaciated. ²  His majestic glory will go up in smoke. ³ 

You are holy; you sit as king receiving the praises of Israel. ¹ 

In you our ancestors ¹  trusted; they trusted in you ²  and you rescued them.

I hate those who serve worthless idols, ¹  but I trust in the Lord.

by saving their lives from death ¹  and sustaining them during times of famine. ² 

For I do not trust in my bow, and I do not prevail by my sword.

O Lord who rules over all, ¹  how blessed are those who trust in you! ²
