On that day after Jesus went out of the house, he sat by the lake.

Now when evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, ¹ 

Jesus ¹  went out again by the sea. The whole crowd came to him, and he taught them.

After they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret. ¹ 

Jesus ¹  gave them permission. ²  So ³  the unclean spirits came out and went into the pigs. Then the herd rushed down the steep slope into the lake, and about two thousand were drowned in the lake.

As ¹  he was walking by the Sea of Galilee he saw two brothers, Simon (called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea (for they were fishermen). ² 

And he said, ¹  “Go!” So ²  they came out and went into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep slope into the lake and drowned in the water.

When Jesus had crossed again in a boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered around him, and he was by the sea.

got into a boat, and started to cross the lake ¹  to Capernaum. ²  (It had already become dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.) ³ 

The breath of God produces ice, and the breadth of the waters freeze solid.

When there were no deep oceans ¹  I was born, ²  when there were no springs overflowing ³  with water;

As he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. ¹ 

But so that we don’t offend them, go to the lake and throw out a hook. Take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth, you will find a four drachma coin. ¹  Take that and give it to them for me and you.”

After they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret ¹  and anchored there.

Of Naphtali he said: O Naphtali, overflowing with favor, and full of the Lord’s blessing, possess the west and south.

As he went along the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, Simon’s brother, casting a net into the sea (for they were fishermen). ¹ 

The next day the crowd that remained on the other side of the lake ¹  realized that only one small boat ²  had been there, and that Jesus had not boarded ³  it with his disciples, but that his disciples had gone away alone.

While in Galilee, he moved from Nazareth ¹  to make his home in Capernaum ²  by the sea, ³  in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,

And a great storm developed on the sea so that the waves began to swamp the boat. But he was asleep.

After getting into a boat he crossed to the other side and came to his own town. ¹
