He ¹  said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest ²  to send out ³  workers into his harvest.

She ¹  was pregnant and was screaming in labor pains, struggling ²  to give birth.

Their descendants remained in the land (the Israelites were unable to wipe them out). Solomon conscripted them for his work crews and they continue in that role to this very day. ¹ 

Make the work harder ¹  for the men so they will keep at it ²  and pay no attention to lying words!” ³ 

You ¹  will eat what you worked so hard to grow. ²  You will be blessed and secure. ³ 

A laborer’s ¹  appetite ²  works on his behalf, ³  for his hunger ⁴  urges him to work. ⁵

In all hard work ¹  there is profit, but merely talking about it ²  only brings ³  poverty. ⁴ 

But the Egyptians mistreated and oppressed us, forcing us to do burdensome labor.

and also that everyone should eat and drink, and find enjoyment in all his toil, for these things ¹  are a gift from God.

All of man’s labor is for nothing more than ¹  to fill his stomach ²  – yet his appetite ³  is never satisfied!
