Although ¹  I am innocent, ²  I could not answer him; ³  I could only plead ⁴  with my judge ⁵  for mercy.

Will it make numerous supplications to you, ¹  will it speak to you with tender words? ² 

I called on the name of the Lord, “Please Lord, rescue my life!”

I seek your favor ¹  with all my heart. Have mercy on me as you promised! ² 

The king did not even listen to Elnathan, Delaiah, and Gemariah, who had urged him not to burn the scroll. ¹ 

So I turned my attention ¹  to the Lord God ²  to implore him by prayer and requests, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes. ³ 

He begged Jesus ¹  repeatedly not to send them out of the region.

And the demonic spirits ¹  begged him, “Send us into the pigs. Let us enter them.”

As he was getting into the boat the man who had been demon-possessed asked if he could go ¹  with him.

Then ¹  they came to Bethsaida. They brought a blind man to Jesus ²  and asked him to touch him.

bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat ¹  you.

When ¹  they came ²  to Jesus, they urged ³  him earnestly, ⁴  “He is worthy ⁵  to have you do this for him,

Because he could not be persuaded, ¹  we said no more except, ²  “The Lord’s will be done.” ³ 

begging us with great earnestness for the blessing and fellowship of helping ¹  the saints.

But Moses sought the favor ¹  of the Lord his God and said, “O Lord, why does your anger burn against your people, whom you have brought out from the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?

Everyone who remains in your house will come to bow before him for a little money ¹  and for a scrap of bread. Each will say, ‘Assign me to a priestly task so I can eat a scrap of bread.’”

Then Esther again spoke with the king, falling at his feet. She wept and begged him for mercy, that he might nullify the evil of Haman the Agagite which he had intended against the Jews. ¹ 

But now plead for God’s favor ¹  that he might be gracious to us. ²  “With this kind of offering in your hands, how can he be pleased with you?” asks the Lord who rules over all.

And wherever he would go – into villages, towns, or countryside – they would place the sick in the marketplaces, and would ask him if ¹  they could just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.

When he heard that Jesus had come back from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and begged him ¹  to come down and heal his son, who was about to die.
