Once he had removed Amasa ¹  from the path, everyone followed Joab to pursue Sheba son of Bicri.

The wealth that he consumed ¹  he vomits up, God will make him throw it out ²  of his stomach.

He sucks the poison ¹  of serpents; ²  the fangs ³  of a viper ⁴  kill him.

To whom ¹  did you utter these words? And whose spirit has come forth from your mouth? ²

Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and live there, so ¹  the last state of that person is worse than the first. It will be that way for this evil generation as well!”

Jacob and all his descendants took their livestock and the possessions they had acquired in the land of Canaan, and they went to Egypt. ¹
