Then I entered the precincts of God’s temple, ¹  and understood the destiny of the wicked. ² 

Rescue the poor and needy! Deliver them from the power ¹  of the wicked!

Certainly you will see it with your very own eyes – you will see the wicked paid back. ¹ 

I will have nothing to do with a perverse person; ¹  I will not permit ²  evil.

The wicked have no chance for deliverance, ¹  for they do not seek your statutes.

The Lord is just; he cut the ropes of the wicked.” ¹ 

You will not be afraid ¹  of sudden ²  disaster, ³  or when destruction overtakes ⁴  the wicked; ⁵ 

A worthless and wicked person ¹  walks around saying perverse ²  things; ³ 

The memory ¹  of the righteous is a blessing, but the reputation ²  of the wicked will rot. ³ 

The reward ¹  which the righteous receive ²  is life; the recompense ³  which the wicked receive ⁴  is judgment. ⁵ 

What the wicked fears ¹  will come on him; what the righteous desire ²  will be granted. ³ 

Fearing the Lord ¹  prolongs life, ²  but the life span ³  of the wicked will be shortened. ⁴ 

The hope ¹  of the righteous is joy, but the expectation of the wicked will remain unfulfilled. ² 

The righteous will never be moved, but the wicked will not inhabit the land. ¹ 

A city is exalted by the blessing provided from ¹  the upright, but it is destroyed by the counsel ²  of the wicked. ³ 

If the righteous are recompensed on earth, ¹  how much more ²  the wicked sinner! ³ 

The plans ¹  of the righteous are just; the counsels of the wicked are deceitful. ² 

The wicked are overthrown ¹  and perish, ²  but the righteous household ³  will stand.

The righteous has enough food to satisfy his appetite, ¹  but the belly of the wicked lacks food. ² 

The wicked become ¹  a ransom ²  for the righteous, and the faithless ³  are taken ⁴  in the place of the upright.
