and the best seats in the synagogues ¹  and the places of honor at banquets.

But he refused, saying, “I won’t eat!” Both his servants and the woman urged ¹  him to eat, so he gave in. ²  He got up from the ground and sat down on the bed.

Let the godly rejoice because of their vindication! ¹  Let them shout for joy upon their beds! ² 

Those who live uprightly enter a place of peace; they rest on their beds. ¹

But so that you may know ¹  that the Son of Man ²  has authority on earth to forgive sins” – he said to the paralyzed man ³  – “I tell you, stand up, take your stretcher ⁴  and go home.” ⁵
