Stop trusting in human beings, whose life’s breath is in their nostrils. For why should they be given special consideration?

You conceive straw, ¹  you give birth to chaff; your breath is a fire that destroys you. ² 

Meanwhile Saul, still breathing out threats ¹  to murder ²  the Lord’s disciples, went to the high priest

My breath is repulsive ¹  to my wife; I am loathsome ²  to my brothers. ³ 

When you ignore them, they panic. ¹  When you take away their life’s breath, they die and return to dust.

A truthful witness ¹  does not lie, but a false witness ²  breathes out lies. ³ 

Remember ¹  that my life is but a breath, that ²  my eyes will never again ³  see happiness.

The grass dries up, the flowers wither, when the wind sent by the Lord ¹  blows on them. Surely humanity ²  is like grass.

The Lord knows that peoples’ thoughts are morally bankrupt. ¹ 

Men are nothing but a mere breath; human beings are unreliable. ¹  When they are weighed in the scales, all of them together are lighter than air. ² 

As I watched, I saw ¹  tendons on them, then muscles appeared, ²  and skin covered over them from above, but there was no breath ³  in them.

So I prophesied as I was commanded, and the breath came into them; they lived and stood on their feet, an extremely great army.

Their life’s breath departs, they return to the ground; on that day their plans die. ¹ 

When Jacob finished giving these instructions to his sons, he pulled his feet up onto the bed, breathed his last breath, and went ¹  to his people.

The depths ¹  of the sea were exposed; the inner regions ²  of the world were uncovered by the Lord’s battle cry, ³  by the powerful breath from his nose. ⁴ 

After this ¹  the son of the woman who owned the house got sick. His illness was so severe he could no longer breathe.

I want ¹  to climb the palm tree, ²  and take hold of its fruit stalks. May your breasts be like the clusters of grapes, ³  and may the fragrance of your breath be like apricots! ⁴ 

ר (Resh) Our very life breath – the Lord’s anointed king ¹  – was caught in their traps, ²  of whom we thought, ³  “Under his protection ⁴  we will survive among the nations.”

How, sir, am I able to speak with you? ¹  My strength is gone, ²  and I am breathless.”
