For the creation eagerly waits for the revelation of the sons of God.

Among those nations you will have no rest nor will there be a place of peaceful rest for the soles of your feet, for there the Lord will give you an anxious heart, failing eyesight, and a spirit of despair.

Why do you worry about clothing? Think about how the flowers ¹  of the field grow; they do not work ²  or spin.

So then, don’t worry saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’

Whenever ¹  they hand you over for trial, do not worry about how to speak or what to say, ²  for what you should say will be given to you at that time. ³ 

But when they bring you before the synagogues, ¹  the ²  rulers, and the authorities, do not worry about how you should make your defense ³  or what you should say,

Then ¹  Jesus ²  said to his ³  disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry ⁴  about your ⁵  life, what you will eat, or about your ⁶  body, what you will wear.

When you leave me today, you will find two men near Rachel’s tomb at Zelzah on Benjamin’s border. They will say to you, ‘The donkeys you have gone looking for have been found. Your father is no longer concerned about the donkeys but has become anxious about you two! ¹  He is asking, “What should I do about my son?”’

“This is why ¹  my troubled thoughts bring me back ²  – because of my feelings ³  within me.

If you have any words, ¹  reply to me; speak, for I want to justify you. ² 

I sought the Lord’s help ¹  and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

Though I have done nothing wrong, ¹  they are anxious to attack. ²  Spring into action and help me! Take notice of me! ³ 

Then they will call to me, but I will not answer; they will diligently seek ¹  me, but they will not find me.

Anxiety ¹  in a person’s heart ²  weighs him down, ³  but an encouraging ⁴  word brings him joy. ⁵ 

All the days ¹  of the afflicted ²  are bad, ³  but one with ⁴  a cheerful heart has a continual feast. ⁵ 

What does a man acquire from all his labor and from the anxiety that accompanies his toil on earth? ¹ 

“Son of man, eat your bread with trembling, ¹  and drink your water with anxious shaking.

For we consider that a person ¹  is declared righteous by faith apart from the works of the law. ² 

We did this ¹  as a precaution so that no one should blame us in regard to this generous gift we are administering.

Apart from other things, ¹  there is the daily pressure on me of my anxious concern ²  for all the churches.
