I find delight ¹  in your statutes; I do not forget your instructions. ² 

Then I will keep ¹  your law continually now and for all time. ² 

Let them sing about the Lord’s deeds, ¹  for the Lord’s splendor is magnificent. ² 

The sticks you write on will be in your hand in front of them.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. ¹ 

“You are the ones who have remained ¹  with me in my trials.

If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all people. ¹ 

Therefore, each of us will give an account of himself to God. ¹ 

if you have experienced ¹  the Lord’s kindness. ² 

“No longer will your name be Jacob,” the man told him, ¹  “but Israel, ²  because you have fought ³  with God and with men and have prevailed.”

May the Lord reward your efforts! ¹  May your acts of kindness be repaid fully ²  by the Lord God of Israel, from whom you have sought protection!” ³ 

For the sake of your promise and according to your purpose ¹  you have done this great thing in order to reveal it to your servant. ² 

Absalom would then say to him, “Look, your claims are legitimate and appropriate. ¹  But there is no representative of the king who will listen to you.”

You exalt my horn like that of a wild ox. ¹  I am covered ²  with fresh oil.

However, ¹  because ²  I called but you refused to listen, ³  because ⁴  I stretched out my hand ⁵  but no one paid attention,

The Lord comes to pronounce judgment on the leaders of his people and their officials. He says, ¹  “It is you ²  who have ruined ³  the vineyard! ⁴  You have stashed in your houses what you have stolen from the poor. ⁵ 

O my downtrodden people, crushed like stalks on the threshing floor, ¹  what I have heard from the Lord who commands armies, the God of Israel, I have reported to you.

Then you will remember your evil behavior ¹  and your deeds which were not good; you will loathe yourselves on account of your sins and your abominable deeds.

And I will say to myself, ¹  “You have plenty of goods stored up for many years; relax, eat, drink, celebrate!”’

you are guilty because of the blood you shed and defiled by the idols you made. You have hastened the day of your doom; ¹  the end of your years has come. ²  Therefore I will make ³  you an object of scorn to the nations, an object to be mocked by all lands.
