“Food is for the stomach and the stomach is for food, but God will do away with both.” ¹  The body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin a person commits is outside of the body” ¹  – but the immoral person sins against his own body.

For this reason, if food causes my brother or sister to sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I may not cause one of them ¹  to sin.

revealing ¹  that you are a letter of Christ, delivered by us, ²  written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on stone tablets ³  but on tablets of human hearts.

For he is our peace, the one who made both groups into one ¹  and who destroyed the middle wall of partition, the hostility,

Slaves, ¹  obey your earthly ²  masters in every respect, not only when they are watching – like those who are strictly people-pleasers – but with a sincere heart, fearing the Lord.

They served only for matters of food and drink ¹  and various washings; they are external regulations ²  imposed until the new order came. ³

No one who has even a small portion of the Spirit in him does this. ¹  What did our ancestor ²  do when seeking a child from God? Be attentive, then, to your own spirit, for one should not be disloyal to the wife he took in his youth. ³ 

“‘No man is to approach any close relative ¹  to have sexual intercourse with her. ²  I am the Lord. ³ 

“‘You must not eat anything with the blood still in it. ¹  You must not practice either divination or soothsaying. ² 

The Lord says this about Jezebel, ‘Dogs will devour Jezebel by the outer wall ¹  of Jezreel.’

Night pierces ¹  my bones; ²  my gnawing pains ³  never cease.

For your arrows pierce ¹  me, and your hand presses me down. ² 

He sent swarms of biting insects against them, ¹  as well as frogs that overran their land. ² 

Certainly ¹  you made my mind and heart; ²  you wove me together ³  in my mother’s womb.

Until the dawn arrives ¹  and the shadows flee, I will go up to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense.

I will drench the land with the flow of your blood up to the mountains, and the ravines will be full of your blood. ¹
