I looked on when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a thunderous voice, ¹  “Come!” ² 

And all the angels stood ¹  there in a circle around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they threw themselves down with their faces to the ground ²  before the throne and worshiped God,

The beast ¹  was permitted to go to war against the saints and conquer them. ²  He was given ruling authority ³  over every tribe, people, ⁴  language, and nation,

Then ¹  one of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven golden bowls filled with the wrath ²  of God who lives forever and ever,

The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures threw themselves to the ground ¹  and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne, saying: “Amen! Hallelujah!”

“Take the staff and assemble the community, you and Aaron your brother, and then speak ¹  to the rock before their eyes. It will pour forth ²  its water, and you will bring water out of the rock for them, and so you will give the community and their beasts water to drink.”

But God turned away from them and gave them over ¹  to worship the host ²  of heaven, as it is written in the book of the prophets: ‘It was not to me that you offered slain animals and sacrifices ³  forty years in the wilderness, was it, ⁴  house of Israel?

The spoil that remained of the plunder which the fighting men ¹  had gathered ²  was 675,000 sheep,

So we decided to build this altar, not for burnt offerings and sacrifices,

Those who carried the ark of the Lord took six steps and then David ¹  sacrificed an ox and a fatling calf.

Each one also brought to the assigned location his quota of barley and straw for the various horses. ¹ 

Let those who curse the day ¹  curse it ²  – those who are prepared to rouse ³  Leviathan. ⁴ 

There is ¹  the roaring of the lion ²  and the growling ³  of the young lion, but the teeth of the young lions are broken. ⁴ 

Why do you pursue me like God does? ¹  Will you never be satiated with my flesh? ² 

Who let the wild donkey go free? Who released the bonds of the donkey,

(40:25) ¹  “Can you pull in ²  Leviathan with a hook, and tie down ³  its tongue with a rope?

Is it not fierce ¹  when it is awakened? Who is he, then, who can stand before it? ² 

I will not keep silent about its limbs, and the extent of its might, and the grace of its arrangement. ¹ 

You destroyed ¹  the sea by your strength; you shattered the heads of the sea monster ²  in the water.

Over here is the deep, wide sea, ¹  which teems with innumerable swimming creatures, ²  living things both small and large.
