But Jesus shouted out, ¹  “The one who believes in me does not believe in me, but in the one who sent me, ² 

The person who does not love me does not obey ¹  my words. And the word ²  you hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me.

Now we know that you know everything ¹  and do not need anyone ²  to ask you anything. ³  Because of this ⁴  we believe that you have come from God.”

“Come, have breakfast,” Jesus said. ¹  But none of the disciples dared to ask him, “Who are you?” because they knew it was the Lord.

So Philip ran up ¹  to it ²  and heard the man ³  reading Isaiah the prophet. He ⁴  asked him, ⁵  “Do you understand what you’re reading?”

When they heard this, ¹  they ceased their objections ²  and praised ³  God, saying, “So then, God has granted the repentance ⁴  that leads to life even to the Gentiles.” ⁵ 

For ¹  we are in danger of being charged with rioting ²  today, since there is no cause we can give to explain ³  this disorderly gathering.” ⁴ 

For the righteousness ¹  of God is revealed in the gospel ²  from faith to faith, ³  just as it is written, “The righteous by faith will live.” ⁴ 

therefore ¹  you who teach someone else, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal?

What then? Are we better off? Certainly not, for we have already charged that Jews and Greeks alike are all under sin,

For I don’t understand what I am doing. For I do not do what I want – instead, I do what I hate. ¹ 

Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer me doing it but sin that lives in me.

(for if you live according to the flesh, you will ¹  die), ²  but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live.

For ignoring the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking instead to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

And if it is by grace, it is no longer by works, otherwise grace would no longer be grace.

For who among men knows the things of a man except the man’s spirit within him? So too, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

for you are still influenced by the flesh. ¹  For since there is still jealousy and dissension among you, are you not influenced by the flesh and behaving like unregenerate people? ² 

What is Apollos, really? Or what is Paul? Servants through whom you came to believe, and each of us in the ministry the Lord gave us. ¹ 

I say this to your shame! Is there no one among you wise enough to settle disputes between fellow Christians? ¹ 

With regard to food sacrificed to idols, we know that “we all have knowledge.” ¹  Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
