They will eat up your crops and your food. They will kill off ¹  your sons and your daughters. They will eat up your sheep and your cattle. They will destroy your vines and your fig trees. ²  Their weapons will batter down ³  the fortified cities you trust in.

“A lion coming up from the thick undergrowth along the Jordan ¹  scatters the sheep in the pastureland around it. ²  So too I will chase the Edomites off their land. ³  Then I will appoint over it whomever I choose. ⁴  For there is no one like me, and there is no one who can call me to account. ⁵  There is no ⁶  ruler ⁷  who can stand up against me.

Abimelech asked Abraham, “What is the meaning of these ¹  seven ewe lambs that you have set apart?”

“God will provide ¹  for himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham replied. The two of them continued on together.

When the sheep mated ¹  in front of the branches, they ²  gave birth to young that were streaked or speckled or spotted.

In this way Jacob ¹  became extremely prosperous. He owned ²  large flocks, male and female servants, camels, and donkeys.

two hundred female goats and twenty male goats, two hundred ewes and twenty rams,

Also, take your flocks and your herds, just as you have requested, and leave. But bless me also.” ¹ 

You are to put them in one basket and present ¹  them in the basket, along with ²  the bull and the two rams.

“You are to take one ram, and Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on the ram’s head,

“You are to take the second ram, and Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on the ram’s head,

“You are to take the ram of the consecration and cook ¹  its meat in a holy place. ² 

Then he presented the burnt offering ram and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram,

Then he ¹  cut the ram into parts, ²  and Moses offered the head, the parts, and the suet up in smoke,

He must bring his guilt offering to the Lord at the entrance of the Meeting Tent, a guilt offering ram, ¹ 

one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb in its first year, for a burnt offering;
