So the Lord said, “The outcry against ¹  Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so blatant ² 

The sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were descendants ¹  of Keturah.

These were their descendants:Ishmael’s firstborn son was Nebaioth; the others were ¹  Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

O children ¹  of Israel, God’s ²  servant, you descendants of Jacob, God’s ³  chosen ones!

Remember your covenant promises, ¹  for the dark regions of the earth are full of places where violence rules. ² 

Now as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, ¹ 

He has helped his servant Israel, remembering ¹  his mercy, ² 

Abraham ¹  looked up ²  and saw ³  three men standing across ⁴  from him. When he saw them ⁵  he ran from the entrance of the tent to meet them and bowed low ⁶  to the ground. ⁷ 

Finally Abraham ¹  said, “May the Lord not be angry so that I may speak just once more. What if ten are found there?” He replied, “I will not destroy it for the sake of the ten.”

Did Abraham ¹  not say to me, ‘She is my sister’? And she herself said, ²  ‘He is my brother.’ I have done this with a clear conscience ³  and with innocent hands!”

and asked ¹  Abraham’s servant, ²  “Who is that man walking in the field toward us?” “That is my master,” the servant replied. ³  So she took her veil and covered herself.

And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised, ¹  so that he would become ²  the father of all those who believe but have never been circumcised, ³  that they too could have righteousness credited to them.

I ¹  have also heard ²  the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, ³  and I have remembered my covenant. ⁴ 

So ¹  the rich man ²  said, ‘Then I beg you, father – send Lazarus ³  to my father’s house

However, because Moses gave you the practice of circumcision ¹  (not that it came from Moses, but from the forefathers), you circumcise a male child ²  on the Sabbath.

You people ¹  are doing the deeds of your father.” Then ²  they said to Jesus, ³  “We were not born as a result of immorality! ⁴  We have only one Father, God himself.”

Then he went out from the country of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. After his father died, God ¹  made him move ²  to this country where you now live.

Since God is one, ¹  he will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.

He ¹  did not waver in unbelief about the promise of God but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God.
