So ¹  after leaving the crowd, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat, ²  and other boats were with him.

And if the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would be saved. But because of the elect, whom he chose, he has cut them ¹  short.

He will show you a large room upstairs, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there.”

“And look, ¹  your relative ²  Elizabeth has also become pregnant with ³  a son in her old age – although she was called barren, she is now in her sixth month! ⁴ 

nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is ¹  in your midst.” ² 

I sent you to reap what you did not work for; others have labored and you have entered into their labor.”

But there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus had already known from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.) ¹ 

Jesus replied, ¹  “I told you and you do not believe. The deeds ²  I do in my Father’s name testify about me.

After this Jesus, realizing that by this time ¹  everything was completed, ²  said (in order to fulfill the scripture), ³  “I am thirsty!” ⁴ 

Now very early on the first day of the week, ¹  while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene ²  came to the tomb and saw that the stone had been moved away from the entrance. ³ 

The local inhabitants ¹  showed us extraordinary ²  kindness, for they built a fire and welcomed us all because it had started to rain ³  and was cold.

So for this reason I have asked to see you and speak with you, for I am bound with this chain because of the hope of Israel.” ¹ 

through whom we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice ¹  in the hope of God’s glory.

You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who has ever resisted his will?”

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” ¹  (that is, the word of faith that we preach),

Therefore we must not pass judgment on one another, but rather determine never to place an obstacle or a trap before a brother or sister. ¹ 

I do not mean yours but the other person’s. For why is my freedom being judged by another’s conscience?

Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? ¹  If the dead are not raised at all, then why are they baptized for them?

Thus ¹  we urged ²  Titus that, just as he had previously begun this work, ³  so also he should complete this act of kindness ⁴  for you.

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one ¹  who called you by the grace of Christ ²  and are following ³  a different ⁴  gospel –
