but the villagers ¹  refused to welcome ²  him, because he was determined to go to Jerusalem. ³ 

We ¹  have come to believe and to know ²  that you are the Holy One of God!” ³ 

After an interval of about three hours, ¹  his wife came in, but she did not know ²  what had happened.

and know his will ¹  and approve the superior things because you receive instruction from the law, ² 

Where, then, is boasting? ¹  It is excluded! By what principle? ²  Of works? No, but by the principle of faith!

And I was once alive apart from the law, but with the coming of the commandment sin became alive

What I am saying with this boastful confidence ¹  I do not say the way the Lord would. ²  Instead it is, as it were, foolishness.

Have you suffered so many things for nothing? – if indeed it was for nothing.

if indeed you heard about him and were taught in him, just as the truth is in Jesus.

And take the helmet of salvation ¹  and the sword ²  of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Nevertheless, let us live up to the standard ¹  that we have already attained. ²
