¹  it was said to her, “The older will serve the younger,” ² 

older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters – with complete purity.

(Now Laban had two daughters; ¹  the older one was named Leah, and the younger one Rachel.

“It is not our custom here,” ¹  Laban replied, “to give the younger daughter in marriage ²  before the firstborn.

Do not address an older man harshly ¹  but appeal to him as a father. Speak to younger men as brothers, ² 

Encourage younger men likewise to be self-controlled, ¹

So I want younger women to marry, raise children, and manage a household, in order to give the adversary no opportunity to vilify us. ¹ 

In this way ¹  they will train ²  the younger women to love their husbands, to love their children,

When the Israelites cried out for help to the Lord, he ¹  raised up a deliverer for the Israelites who rescued ²  them. His name was Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother. ³
