Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

For everything that was written in former times was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope.

Have I not written thirty sayings ¹  for you, sayings ²  of counsel and knowledge,

for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you, to protect you,’ ¹ 

He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you understand it?” ¹ 

because these are days of vengeance, ¹  to fulfill ²  all that is written.

The ¹  words of the prophets agree ²  with this, as it is written,

“O that ¹  my words were written down, O that they were written on a scroll, ² 

“In Bethlehem of Judea,” they said, “for it is written this way by the prophet:

Jesus found a young donkey ¹  and sat on it, just as it is written,

just as it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one,

But the statement it was credited to him ¹  was not written only for Abraham’s ²  sake,

just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” ¹ 

so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” ¹ 

for it is written, “You shall be holy, because I am holy.” ¹ 

For all who ¹  rely on doing the works of the law are under a curse, because it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not keep on doing everything written in the book of the law.” ² 

“This is the writing that was inscribed: MENE, MENE, ¹  TEQEL, and PHARSIN. ² 

So the Jews committed themselves to continue what they had begun to do and to what Mordecai had written to them.

Then I say, “Look! I come! What is written in the scroll pertains to me. ¹ 

Jesus answered, ¹  “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods’? ²
