Lamech said to his wives, “Adah and Zillah! Listen to me! You wives of Lamech, hear my words! I have killed a man for wounding me, a young man ¹  for hurting me.

If you sin against your brothers or sisters ¹  in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.

He found another man and said, “Wound me!” So the man wounded him severely. ¹

“See now that I, indeed I, am he!” says the Lord, ¹  “and there is no other god besides me. I kill and give life, I smash and I heal, and none can resist ²  my power.
