Then ¹  seven heads of grain, withered and thin and burned with the east wind, were sprouting up after them.

Other seed fell on rock, ¹  and when it came up, it withered because it had no moisture.

So he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Stand up among all these people.” ¹ 

My heart is parched ¹  and withered like grass, for I am unable ²  to eat food. ³ 

But when the sun came up, they were scorched, and because they did not have sufficient root, they withered.

Peter remembered and said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered.”

In the morning as they passed by, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots.

So God sent ¹  a worm at dawn the next day, and it attacked the little plant so that it dried up.

The vine has dried up; the fig tree languishes – the pomegranate, date, and apple ¹  as well. In fact, ²  all the trees of the field have dried up. Indeed, the joy of the people ³  has dried up!

My days are coming to an end, ¹  and I am withered like grass.

For the waters of Nimrim are gone; ¹  the grass is dried up, the vegetation has disappeared, and there are no plants.

On ¹  another Sabbath, Jesus ²  entered the synagogue ³  and was teaching. Now ⁴  a man was there whose right hand was withered. ⁵ 

But it was plucked up in anger; it was thrown down to the ground. The east wind ¹  dried up its fruit; its strong branches broke off and withered – a fire consumed them.

A ¹  man was there who had a withered ²  hand. And they asked Jesus, ³  “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?” ⁴  so that they could accuse him.

But ¹  he knew ²  their thoughts, ³  and said to the man who had the withered hand, “Get up and stand here.” ⁴  So ⁵  he rose and stood there.

After noticing a fig tree ¹  by the road he went to it, but found nothing on it except leaves. He said to it, “Never again will there be fruit from you!” And the fig tree withered at once.

Woe to the worthless shepherd who abandons the flock! May a sword fall on his arm and his right eye! May his arm wither completely away, and his right eye become completely blind!”

I will take away their harvests, ¹  says the Lord. There will be no grapes on their vines. There will be no figs on their fig trees. Even the leaves on their trees will wither. The crops that I gave them will be taken away.’” ²
