When I refused to confess my sin, ¹  my whole body wasted away, ²  while I groaned in pain all day long.

But some who were present indignantly said to one another, “Why this waste of expensive ¹  ointment?

When they were all satisfied, Jesus ¹  said to his disciples, “Gather up the broken pieces that are left over, so that nothing is wasted.”

His flesh wastes away from sight, and his bones, which were not seen, are easily visible. ¹ 

you will vomit up ¹  the little bit you have eaten, and will have wasted your pleasant words. ² 

Nevertheless the Kenite will be consumed. ¹  How long will Asshur take you away captive?”

The crops of the fields ¹  have been destroyed. ²  The ground is in mourning because the grain has perished. The fresh wine has dried up; the olive oil languishes.

After ¹  a few days, ²  the younger son gathered together all he had and left on a journey to a distant country, and there he squandered ³  his wealth ⁴  with a wild lifestyle.

The water of the sea will be dried up, and the river will dry up and be empty. ¹ 

Have mercy on me, for I am in distress! My eyes grow dim ¹  from suffering. ²  I have lost my strength. ³ 

And at the end of your life ¹  you will groan ²  when your flesh and your body are wasted away. ³ 

The ruined town ¹  is shattered; all of the houses are shut up tight. ² 

I fear for you that my work for you may have been in vain.

They will be starved by famine, eaten by plague, and bitterly stung; ¹  I will send the teeth of wild animals against them, along with the poison of creatures that crawl in the dust.

So my anger and my wrath were poured out and burned like a fire through the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem. That is why they have become the desolate ruins that they are today.’

For my life nears its end in pain; my years draw to a close as I groan. ¹  My strength fails me because of ²  my sin, and my bones become brittle. ³ 

They will be desolate among desolate lands, and their cities will be among ruined cities.

My eyes have grown dim ¹  with grief; my whole frame ²  is but a shadow.

Indeed, ¹  nations or kingdoms that do not serve you will perish; such nations will be totally destroyed. ² 

But there was no food in all the land because the famine was very severe; the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan wasted away ¹  because of the famine.
