God understands the way to it, and he alone knows its place.

there is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks God.

All of them are clear ¹  to the discerning and upright to those who find knowledge.

A servant ¹  cannot be corrected ²  by words, for although ³  he understands, there is no answer. ⁴ 

For the one speaking in a tongue does not speak to people but to God, for no one understands; he is speaking mysteries by the Spirit. ¹ 

But as for the seed sown on good soil, this is the person who hears the word and understands. He bears fruit, yielding a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown.” ¹ 

The scorner ¹  seeks wisdom but finds none, ²  but understanding is easy ³  for a discerning person.

he is conceited and understands nothing, but has an unhealthy interest in controversies and verbal disputes. This gives rise to envy, dissension, slanders, evil suspicions,

“And you, Solomon my son, obey ¹  the God of your father and serve him with a submissive attitude and a willing spirit, ²  for the Lord examines all minds and understands every motive of one’s thoughts. If you seek him, he will let you find him, ³  but if you abandon him, he will reject you permanently.

He is the one who forms every human heart, ¹  and takes note of all their actions.

The godly ¹  perish, but no one cares. ²  Honest people disappear, ³  when no one ⁴  minds ⁵  that the godly ⁶  disappear ⁷  because of ⁸  evil. ⁹ 

If people want to boast, they should boast about this: They should boast that they understand and know me. They should boast that they know and understand that I, the Lord, act out of faithfulness, fairness, and justice in the earth and that I desire people to do these things,” ¹  says the Lord.

Toward the end of their rule, when rebellious acts ¹  are complete, a rash ²  and deceitful ³  king will arise. ⁴ 

For he knows what we are made of; ¹  he realizes ²  we are made of clay. ³ 

Wealthy people do not understand; ¹  they are like animals ²  that perish. ³ 

Who can really fathom the intensity of your anger? ¹  Your raging fury causes people to fear you. ² 

(Let the wise also ¹  hear ²  and gain ³  instruction, and let the discerning ⁴  acquire ⁵  guidance! ⁶ )

The Lord is good ¹  – indeed, ²  he is a fortress ³  in time of distress, ⁴  and he protects ⁵  those who seek refuge ⁶  in him.

But to this very day the Lord has not given you an understanding mind, perceptive eyes, or discerning ears! ¹ 

God looks down from heaven ¹  at the human race, ²  to see if there is anyone who is wise ³  and seeks God. ⁴
