In fact, the scene ¹  was so terrifying that Moses said, “I shudder with fear.” ² 

Terrifying sounds fill ¹  his ears; in a time of peace marauders ²  attack him.

Do you make it leap ¹  like a locust? Its proud neighing ²  is terrifying!

It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

“After these things, as I was watching in the night visions ¹  a fourth beast appeared – one dreadful, terrible, and very strong. ²  It had two large rows ³  of iron teeth. It devoured and crushed, and anything that was left it trampled with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that came before it, and it had ten horns.

Look, the sovereign master, the Lord who commands armies, is ready to cut off the branches with terrifying power. ¹  The tallest trees ²  will be cut down, the loftiest ones will be brought low.

When the sun went down, Abram fell sound asleep, ¹  and great terror overwhelmed him. ² 

and he displayed great power ¹  and awesome might in view of all Israel. ² 

There will be great earthquakes, and famines ¹  and plagues in various places, and there will be terrifying sights ²  and great signs ³  from heaven.

Then he gives a revelation ¹  to people, and terrifies them with warnings, ² 

Then he angrily speaks to them and terrifies them in his rage, ¹  saying, ² 

How desolate they become in a mere moment! Terrifying judgments make their demise complete! ¹ 

“Then I wanted to know the meaning ¹  of the fourth beast, which was different from all the others. It was very dreadful, with two rows of iron teeth and bronze claws, and it devoured, crushed, and trampled anything that was left with its feet.

and who brought you through the great, fearful desert of venomous serpents ¹  and scorpions, an arid place with no water. He made water flow ²  from a flint rock and

A king’s wrath is like ¹  the roar of a lion, ²  but his favor is like dew on the grass. ³ 

They are frightening and terrifying; they decide for themselves what is right. ¹ 

but only a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a fury ¹  of fire that will consume God’s enemies. ² 

Or has God ¹  ever before tried to deliver ²  a nation from the middle of another nation, accompanied by judgments, ³  signs, wonders, war, strength, power, ⁴  and other very terrifying things like the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes?

Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord’s angry judgment. The whole earth ¹  will be consumed by his fiery wrath. ²  Indeed, ³  he will bring terrifying destruction ⁴  on all who live on the earth.” ⁵ 

Pray to the Lord, for the mighty ¹  thunderings and hail are too much! ²  I will release you and you will stay no longer.” ³
