I myself ¹  have seen the fool ²  taking root, but suddenly I cursed his place of residence. ³ 

I asked the messenger who was speaking to me, “Where are they taking the basket?”

He took a little child and had him stand among them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them,

but emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, ¹  by looking like other men, ²  and by sharing in human nature. ³ 

“This is what the sovereign Lord says: ‘Edom ¹  has taken vengeance against the house of Judah; they have made themselves fully culpable ²  by taking vengeance ³  on them. ⁴ 

One must not take either lower or upper millstones as security on a loan, for that is like taking a life itself as security. ¹ 

Then after fourteen years I went up to Jerusalem ¹  again with Barnabas, taking Titus along too.

So also you, when you see these things happening, know ¹  that the kingdom of God ²  is near.

(Now Jesus had been talking about ¹  his death, but they ²  thought he had been talking about real sleep.) ³ 

Now on the first day ¹  of the week, at early dawn, the women ²  went to the tomb, taking the aromatic spices ³  they had prepared.

Respect the Lord and make careful decisions, for the Lord our God disapproves of injustice, partiality, and bribery.” ¹ 

and after taking some food, his strength returned. For several days ¹  he was with the disciples in Damascus,

For sin, seizing the opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through it I died. ¹ 

I robbed other churches by receiving support from them so that I could serve you! ¹ 

For they have gone forth ¹  on behalf of “The Name,” ²  accepting nothing from the pagans. ³ 

Yet it was I who led ¹  Ephraim, I took them by the arm; but they did not acknowledge that I had healed them. ² 

Then ¹  the manager said to himself, ‘What should I do, since my master is taking my position ²  away from me? I’m not strong enough to dig, ³  and I’m too ashamed ⁴  to beg.

Now the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite – Recab and Baanah – went at the hottest part of the day to the home of Ish-bosheth, as he was enjoying his midday rest.

The king ¹  said to him, ‘I will judge you by your own words, ²  you wicked slave! ³  So you knew, did you, that I was a severe ⁴  man, withdrawing what I didn’t deposit and reaping what I didn’t sow?
