The Lord’s shout bends ¹  the large trees ²  and strips ³  the leaves from the forests. ⁴  Everyone in his temple says, “Majestic!” ⁵ 

The one who had died came out, his feet and hands tied up with strips of cloth, ¹  and a cloth wrapped around his face. ²  Jesus said to them, “Unwrap him ³  and let him go.”

Then they took Jesus’ body and wrapped it, with the aromatic spices, ¹  in strips of linen cloth ²  according to Jewish burial customs. ³ 

He bent down ¹  and saw the strips of linen cloth lying there, ²  but he did not go in.

Then Simon Peter, who had been following him, arrived and went right into the tomb. He saw ¹  the strips of linen cloth lying there,

For the fortified city ¹  is left alone; it is a deserted settlement and abandoned like the desert. Calves ²  graze there; they lie down there and eat its branches bare. ³ 

This ¹  will be a sign ²  for you: You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger.” ³ 

He ¹  leads ²  counselors away stripped ³  and makes judges ⁴  into fools. ⁵ 

He leads priests away stripped ¹  and overthrows ²  the potentates. ³ 

But Jacob took fresh-cut branches from poplar, almond, and plane trees. He made white streaks by peeling them, making the white inner wood in the branches visible.

They hammered the gold into thin sheets and cut it into narrow strips to weave ¹  them into the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and into the fine linen, the work of an artistic designer.

And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in strips of cloth ¹  and laid him in a manger, ²  because there was no place for them in the inn. ³ 

But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. ¹  He bent down ²  and saw only the strips of linen cloth; ³  then he went home, ⁴  wondering ⁵  what had happened. ⁶ 

He deprives the leaders of the earth ¹  of their understanding; ²  he makes them wander in a trackless desert waste. ³ 

Increase ¹  your merchants more than the stars of heaven! They are like ²  the young locust which sheds ³  its skin and flies away.

But ¹  when a stronger man ²  attacks ³  and conquers him, he takes away the first man’s ⁴  armor on which the man relied ⁵  and divides up ⁶  his plunder. ⁷ 

and the face cloth, ¹  which had been around Jesus’ head, not lying with the strips of linen cloth but rolled up in a place by itself. ² 

So he made a whip of cords ¹  and drove them all out of the temple courts, ²  with the sheep and the oxen. He scattered the coins of the money changers ³  and overturned their tables.
