When the earth and all its inhabitants dissolve in fear, ¹  I make its pillars secure.” ²  (Selah)

His resolve ¹  is firm; he will not succumb to fear before he looks in triumph on his enemies.

Direct my steps by your word! ¹  Do not let any sin dominate me!

When ¹  the hands of Moses became heavy, ²  they took a stone and put it under him, and Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side and one on the other, ³  and so his hands were steady ⁴  until the sun went down.

Strengthen the hands that have gone limp, steady the knees that shake! ¹ 

When they arrived at the threshing floor of Kidon, Uzzah reached out his hand to take hold of ¹  the ark, because the oxen stumbled.

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands ¹  will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of ²  the Shepherd, the Rock ³  of Israel,

Jotham grew powerful because he was determined to please the Lord his God. ¹ 

I rested and slept; I awoke, ¹  for the Lord protects ²  me.

My soul ¹  pursues you; ²  your right hand upholds me.

My hand will support him, ¹  and my arm will strengthen him.

If only I were predisposed ¹  to keep your statutes!

May your hand help me, for I choose to obey ¹  your precepts.

Then ¹  Jesus ²  traveled throughout ³  towns ⁴  and villages, teaching and making his way toward ⁵  Jerusalem. ⁶ 

by purity, by knowledge, by patience, by benevolence, by the Holy Spirit, ¹  by genuine ²  love,

May he reign ¹  forever before God! Decree that your loyal love and faithfulness should protect him. ² 

For ¹  I am like a wineskin ²  dried up in smoke. ³  I do not forget your statutes.

Wealth gained quickly ¹  will dwindle away, ²  but the one who gathers it little by little ³  will become rich. ⁴ 

A continual dripping on a rainy day and a contentious wife ¹  are alike. ² 

You keep completely safe the people who maintain their faith, for they trust in you. ¹
