will you, with him, spread out ¹  the clouds, solid as a mirror of molten metal?

The clouds poured down rain; ¹  the skies thundered. ²  Yes, your arrows ³  flashed about.

when he established the clouds above, when the fountains of the deep grew strong, ¹ 

Acknowledge God’s power, ¹  his sovereignty over Israel, and the power he reveals in the skies! ² 

He spreads out the northern skies ¹  over empty space; ²  he suspends the earth on nothing. ³ 

He gave a command to the clouds above, and opened the doors in the sky.

By his knowledge the primordial sea ¹  was broken open, ²  and the clouds drip down dew. ³ 

There is no one like God, O Jeshurun, ¹  who rides through the sky ²  to help you, on the clouds in majesty.

But now, the sun ¹  cannot be looked at ²  – it is bright in the skies – after a wind passed and swept the clouds away. ³ 

He shrouded himself in darkness, ¹  in thick rain clouds. ² 

For who in the skies can compare to the Lord? Who is like the Lord among the heavenly beings, ¹ 

Foreigners living there will say, ¹  ‘We tried to heal her, but she could not be healed. Let’s leave Babylonia ²  and each go back to his own country. For judgment on her will be vast in its proportions. It will be like it is piled up to heaven, stacked up into the clouds.’ ³ 

He shrouded himself in darkness, ¹  in thick rain clouds. ² 

which the clouds pour down and shower on humankind abundantly.

For your loyal love extends beyond the sky, ¹  and your faithfulness reaches the clouds.

O Lord, your loyal love reaches to the sky; ¹  your faithfulness to the clouds. ² 

it will remain stable, like the moon, ¹  his throne will endure like the skies.” ²  (Selah)

By his breath ¹  the skies became fair; his hand pierced the fleeing serpent. ² 

Gaze at the heavens and see; consider the clouds, which are higher than you! ¹ 

Praise him, O highest heaven, and you waters above the sky! ¹
