The ear that hears and the eye that sees ¹  – the Lord has made them both. ² 

All this ¹  monotony ²  is tiresome; no one can bear ³  to describe it: ⁴  The eye is never satisfied with seeing, nor is the ear ever content ⁵  with hearing.

But they were startled and terrified, thinking ¹  they saw a ghost. ² 

(Now the men ¹  who were traveling with him stood there speechless, ²  because they heard the voice but saw no one.) ³ 

For this reason I speak to them in parables: Although they see they do not see, and although they hear they do not hear nor do they understand.

and said to him, “Go wash in the pool of Siloam” ¹  (which is translated “sent”). ²  So the blind man ³  went away and washed, and came back seeing.

Peter ¹  went out ²  and followed him; ³  he did not realize that what was happening through the angel was real, ⁴  but thought he was seeing a vision.

Can anyone teach ¹  God knowledge, since ²  he judges those that are on high? ³ 

For you hate instruction and reject my words. ¹ 

So when Peter saw him, ¹  he asked Jesus, “Lord, what about him?”

Then a slave girl, ¹  seeing him as he sat in the firelight, stared at him and said, “This man was with him too!”

When ¹  he saw the crowds, he went up the mountain. ²  After he sat down his disciples came to him.

Then ¹  one of the synagogue rulers, ²  named Jairus, ³  came up, and when he saw Jesus, ⁴  he fell at his feet.

And because they saw the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say against this. ¹ 

The Lord’s messenger said to him, “You should not ask me my name, because you cannot comprehend it.” ¹ 

The Lord said to him, “Who gave ¹  a mouth to man, or who makes a person mute or deaf or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? ² 

or with any stone large enough that a man could die, without seeing him, and throws it at him, and he dies, even though he was not his enemy nor sought his harm,

After noticing in the distance a fig tree with leaves, he went to see if he could find any fruit ¹  on it. When he came to it he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.

When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked directly at him and said, “You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus.”

When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple courts, ¹  he asked them for money. ²
