For he set its foundation upon the seas, and established ¹  it upon the ocean currents. ² 

¹ Your borders are in the heart of the seas; your builders have perfected your beauty.

Let the heavens and the earth praise him, along with the seas and everything that swims in them!

He does whatever he pleases in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all the ocean depths.

the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea and everything that moves through the currents ¹  of the seas.

Your rowers have brought you into surging waters. The east wind has wrecked you in the heart of the seas.

You calm the raging seas ¹  and their roaring waves, as well as the commotion made by the nations. ² 

God called the dry ground “land” ¹  and the gathered waters he called “seas.” God saw that it was good.

God blessed them ¹  and said, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth.” ² 

When your products went out from the seas, you satisfied many peoples; with the abundance of your wealth and merchandise you enriched the kings of the earth.

They will bring you down to the pit, and you will die violently ¹  in the heart of the seas.

The ships of Tarshish ¹  were the transports for your merchandise. “‘So you were filled and weighed down in the heart of the seas.

Now you are wrecked by the seas, in the depths of the waters; your merchandise and all your company have sunk ¹  along with you. ² 

You threw me ¹  into the deep waters, ²  into the middle ³  of the sea; ⁴  the ocean current ⁵  engulfed ⁶  me; all the mighty waves ⁷  you sent ⁸  swept ⁹  over me.

“‘These you can eat from all creatures that are in the water: Any creatures in the water that have both fins and scales, ¹  whether in the seas or in the streams, ²  you may eat.

He rained down meat on them like dust, birds as numerous as the sand on the seashores. ¹ 

But any creatures that do not have both fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the streams, from all the swarming things of the water and from all the living creatures that are in the water, are detestable to you.

They will summon peoples to the mountain, there they will sacrifice proper ¹  sacrifices; for they will enjoy ²  the abundance of the seas, and the hidden treasures of the shores. ³ 

The many nations massing together are as good as dead, ¹  those who make a commotion as loud as the roaring of the sea’s waves. ²  The people making such an uproar are as good as dead, ³  those who make an uproar as loud as the roaring of powerful waves. ⁴ 

You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, ¹  along with all their multitude of stars, ²  the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You impart life to them all, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.
