But they covered their ears, ¹  shouting out with a loud voice, and rushed at him with one intent.

The ¹  city was filled with the uproar, ²  and the crowd ³  rushed to the theater ⁴  together, ⁵  dragging with them Gaius and Aristarchus, the Macedonians who were Paul’s traveling companions.

Abimelech and his units ¹  attacked and blocked ²  the entrance to the city’s gate. Two units then attacked all the people in the field and struck them down.

The men hiding in ambush made a mad dash ¹  to Gibeah. They ²  attacked ³  and put the sword to the entire city.

Calling for lights, the jailer ¹  rushed in and fell down ²  trembling at the feet of Paul and Silas.

So ¹  the demons came out of the man and went into the pigs, and the herd of pigs ²  rushed down the steep slope into the lake and drowned.

The whole city was stirred up, ¹  and the people rushed together. ²  They seized ³  Paul and dragged him out of the temple courts, ⁴  and immediately the doors were shut.

The Spirit of God rushed upon Saul when he heard these words, and he became very angry.

Not long after this, a hurricane-force ¹  wind called the northeaster ²  blew down from the island. ³
