So then they said to him, “What must we do to accomplish the deeds ¹  God requires?” ² 

For human ¹  anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness. ² 

For whenever the Gentiles, ¹  who do not have the law, do by nature ²  the things required by the law, ³  these who do not have the law are a law to themselves.

When you enter my presence, do you actually think I want this – animals trampling on my courtyards? ¹ 

You must reside at the entrance of the Meeting Tent day and night for seven days and keep the charge of the Lord so that you will not die, for this is what I have been commanded.”

May the Lord our God be constantly aware of these requests of mine I have presented to him, ¹  so that he might vindicate ²  his servant and his people Israel as the need arises.

But the person who endures to the end will be saved. ¹ 

He told them, “Collect no more ¹  than you are required to.” ² 

“Receive these gifts ¹  from them, that they may be ²  used in doing the work ³  of the tent of meeting; and you must give them to the Levites, to every man ⁴  as his service requires.” ⁵ 

I will go to the leaders ¹  and speak with them. Surely they know what the Lord demands. ²  Surely they know what their God requires of them.” ³  Yet all of them, too, have rejected his authority and refuse to submit to him. ⁴ 

What the king is asking is too difficult, and no one exists who can disclose it to the king, except for the gods – but they don’t live among mortals!” ¹ 

For what hope does the godless have when he is cut off, ¹  when God takes away his life? ² 

For the one who takes revenge against murderers took notice of the oppressed; ¹  he did not overlook ²  their cry for help ³ 

Where there are no oxen, the feeding trough is clean, but an abundant harvest is produced by strong oxen. ¹ 

He ¹  said to them, “Not everyone can accept this statement, except those to whom it has been given.

The king of Assyria was told, ¹  “The nations whom you deported and settled in the cities of Samaria do not know the requirements of the God of the land, so he has sent lions among them. They are killing the people ²  because they do not know the requirements of the God of the land.”

You must love the Lord your God and do what he requires; keep his statutes, ordinances, and commandments ¹  at all times.

“When these signs have taken place, do whatever your hand finds to do, for God will be with you. ¹ 

The tribes go up ¹  there, ²  the tribes of the Lord, where it is required that Israel give thanks to the name of the Lord. ³ 

Whatever exists now has already been, and whatever will be has already been; for God will seek to do again ¹  what has occurred ²  in the past. ³
