In this way Jacob ¹  became extremely prosperous. He owned ²  large flocks, male and female servants, camels, and donkeys.

This law scroll must not leave your lips! ¹  You must memorize it ²  day and night so you can carefully obey ³  all that is written in it. Then you will prosper ⁴  and be successful. ⁵ 

Silently the man watched her with interest to determine ¹  if the Lord had made his journey successful ²  or not.

They said to him, “Seek a divine oracle for us, ¹  so we can know if we will be successful on our mission.” ² 

Then he ¹  will bring you to the land your ancestors ²  possessed and you also will possess it; he will do better for you and multiply you more than he did your ancestors.

Should you not have obeyed the words that the Lord cried out through the former prophets when Jerusalem ¹  was peacefully inhabited and her surrounding cities, the Negev, and the Shephelah ²  were also populated?

I, I have spoken – yes, I have summoned him; I lead him and he will succeed. ¹ 

The Lord your God will make the labor of your hands ¹  abundantly successful and multiply your children, ²  the offspring of your cattle, and the produce of your soil. For the Lord your God will once more ³  rejoice over you to make you prosperous ⁴  just as he rejoiced over your ancestors,

All of the thriving people ¹  of the earth will join the celebration and worship; ²  all those who are descending into the grave ³  will bow before him, including those who cannot preserve their lives. ⁴ 

“‘See here – this was the iniquity ¹  of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters had majesty, abundance of food, and enjoyed carefree ease, but they did not help ²  the poor and needy.

The Lord was with Joseph. He was successful ¹  and lived ²  in the household of his Egyptian master.

If a man has no redeemer, but he prospers ¹  and gains enough for its redemption, ² 

if you become ¹  pure ²  and upright, ³  even now he will rouse himself ⁴  for you, and will restore ⁵  your righteous abode. ⁶ 

The man became wealthy. ¹  His influence continued to grow ²  until he became very prominent.

Your beginning ¹  will seem so small, since your future will flourish. ² 

“One man dies in his full vigor, ¹  completely secure and prosperous,

They experience his favor; ¹  their descendants ²  inherit the land. ³ 

In my self-confidence I said, “I will never be upended.” ¹ 

But the oppressed will possess the land and enjoy great prosperity. ¹ 

I will abundantly supply what she needs; ¹  I will give her poor all the food they need. ²
